PrimeLogic delivers innovative software engineering solutions in the image processing and machine vision arena. Various turn-key solutions include automated machine vision quality control in the production of metal components (X-ray imaging), medical classification and outcome projection based on cell morphology analysis, motion detection systems in digital video, etc.
Founded in 1994, PrimeLogic pioneered one of South Africa's very first digital video recording systems in the mid 1990's, and is more recently involved with call centre screen recording product developments. Other commercial products include automated software licensing management and control web systems, as well as product configuration and pricing tools.
Founder member Conrad du Toit is an experienced engineer who obtained his Masters degree in Electronic Engineering (digital image and video processing) at the University of Stellenbosch in 1988. He is registered as a professional engineer with ECSA.
With 20 years experience, Conrad developed PrimeLogic into a software company that is known to bridge the gap between business challenges and software solutions.
PrimeLogic operates from its offices in Stellenbosch, close to Cape Town in South Africa.
CONRAD'S CAREER
Conrad's exciting career began at Kentron in Pretoria (which forms part of the Denel Group), where his objective was to research and develop new Automatic Target Recognition and Tracking algorithms. After extensive research he created new Automatic Recognition and tracking algorithms. His algorithms, developed in Turbo Pascal and Occam (Transports) was created into hardware by using FPGA technology. The outcome was the development of a successful prototype.
In 1991 Conrad located to Houwteq near Grabouw, staying with the Denel Group, to work on an Image Satellite project.
His experience and dedication as an engineer landed him a promotion as an Image Scanning Systems Engineer.
Here Conrad obtained profound practical experience in systems engineering, which formed the basis of all his software development processes.
Conrad worked at Analysis Management and systems in Stellenbosch as a Consulting Engineer before establishing PrimeLogic.
Founded in 1994, PrimeLogic delivered innovative and useful projects from the onset.
One of the projects was a comprehensive machine vision parts inspection system, created for a local arms and ammunition manufacturer.
This machine can classify X - ray images to detect defective parts in a weapon system.
With the expertise of Prof T F Kruger of Tygerberg Fertilty and an American company, Dimensions was created: a medical machine vision product. With this machine, human sperm morphology is used to analyze, classify and diagnose male fertility. 15 years later, Dimensions is still one of the leading brands of sperm morphology anlaysers in the world.
The digital video surveillance recording system Opsis, is yet another creation of PrimeLogic. The success of the Opsis system grew to such an extent that Opsis Visual Management (Pty) Ltd was formed in 1996.
Conrad was the head of software development for Opsis as a 50% partner for 6 years. During this time Conrad still operated a consultation service in PrimeLogic.
Conrad located to Spescom DataVoice in October 2002 where he worked as a software development manager for 3 years.
Managing 30 people: two thirds software engineers and software developers and the other third QA testers, Conrad's experience and enthusiasm brought successful projects to fruition.
He contributed to the creation of solid software development processes, skillfully adapted for a fast paced commercial environment.
Ekisa Software Corporation was co-founded in 2004 by Conrad and a UK partner and was registered as a private company 2005.
The Ekisa Screen Logger is a system that is used to record desktop screens. This innovative system is used in contact centres to record all screen transactions for QA, training and liability purposes.
Today, Conrad strives to extend PrimeLogic's portfolio in
offering a diversity of software engineering and consulting services.
